Android :
We recommend the use of SAMSUNG brand tablets and smartphones for their level of performance and reliability. RESTOMAX POS requires Android 10 for optimal performance.
Recommended Samsung models :
Samsung TAB A series (A7, A8, A9,… non-lite): for use with a card of around a hundred items with a few simple suggestions such as cooking or sauce and limited to 1 or 2 pockets maximum to guarantee a good user experience.
We do not recommend the LITE series, which use very low-performance processors.
Samsung TAB S series (S7, S8, S9, …FE included): for all uses, more comfort and performance
We recommend these models, which have the advantage of offering larger screen sizes and a higher level of performance, particularly for large cards and with complex proposals or multiple slave or pocket cases.
Samsung Xcover series: for use in pocket mode, with the advantage of being shockproof and water-resistant. It also has an NFC module for contactless payments via a softpos payment application. The PRO model offers a very high level of performance, ideal for high-speed establishments.
Other models :
Ciontek CS50: For combined use, order-taking and payment terminal with additional ticket printing. Very interesting for its all-in-one functionality, this model is not shockproof or water-resistant and is below the performance of the Samsung series. We therefore recommend it for indoor use with low to medium throughput.
Sunmi: P2, T2S, V2S are compatible but sometimes use earlier versions of Android that are not recommended. Please note that you will need to use the SUNMI proprietary store to download the application.
❗Important:
We always recommend using devices that are compatible with the Google play store in order to receive automatic updates
Apple IOS :
All IPADS are compatible as long as they support version 15 minimum.
As Apple does not easily allow remote control of devices, we prefer to offer Android-based tablets.
❗Important:
We ask that you never mix Android and Apple systems within the same establishment in order to avoid any operating problems. As the 2 systems use their own version and Android evolves more quickly, malfunctions can occur.
Cash drawer
RESTOMAX is compatible with a large number of models. We generally use safescan brand products.
The 2 most popular models:
LD4141 – standard size 41CM wide, with 4 slots for notes and 8 for coins
LD3633 – reduced size 33CM width, with 3 slots for notes and 8 for coins
To operate, the drawer must be connected to the ticket printer via an RJ11 cable supplied with the drawer. The printer sends an electrical impulse to the drawer so that it opens.
Stand
We use metal stands with an integrated printer compartment to ensure that the product is resistant to everyday use and provides good stability for the tablet too.
Ticket & preparation printers
Only LAN printers with an integrated Ethernet port are compatible with RESTOMAX.
Durapos | Epson T88 | Epson U220 | Star TSP100 | Star Mc-Print3 |
Payment terminals
Vivawallet CS50 / A930 / Q30 | Loyaltek 8210 | ATOS Yomani | Adyen S1F2 & V400m |
Module fiscal (FDM)

- Split cable (power, serial and USB)
- VSC card (to be requested from the government)
- BEAS number (supplied by Restomax)
Card, badge & cashless readers
RESTOMAX uses MIFARE technology to read cards and badges.
Model without screen: ACR ACR1281U-C1
A USB-C adapter (e.g. ACT AC7053) is required to power the reader and tablet simultaneously.
Model with screen: ACR122L
You’ll need to add a USB-C docking station (e.g. Kensington SD4839P) to power the reader and tablet simultaneously. This will also make it possible to power other peripherals and to better conceal the cables and secure the various components.
Bar code scanner
Wireless model: Zebra DS2278
Connected via Bluetooth, it works like a virtual keyboard.
⚠️Pensez must allow the keyboard to be displayed on the tablet via System settings > D2278 physical keyboard
Wired model: Zebra DS2278
This model requires a USB-C adapter to be connected to the tablet (example ACT 7053).
Connected scale
Mettler Toledo bRite
To link the scale to the local network, a moxa RS232 – RJ45 adapter must be connected.
