Network standard
To deploy a RESTOMAX cash register, we strongly recommend configuring a separate network dedicated to the cash register, even if there is already an existing network installed by the ISP. This will ensure good communication between the different solutions and prevent unauthorised people from changing the cash register’s network configuration, as well as providing effective remote assistance thanks to the network standard!
Network configuration requirements
- Dedicated Gigabit router for the RESTOMAX network
- Gigabit ethernet network cables to connect printers, control terminals and other devices with an ethernet connection to the router.
We always prefer wired connections to WiFi for reasons of stability.
The RESTOMAX network standard
For the configuration of this network, we have established a standard that will greatly facilitate the work of support staff in detecting any malfunctions and updating solutions, particularly in the case of an ecosystem with multiple tills, pockets or control terminals.
With the exception of Pocket, which can be configured using DHCP, all other network devices such as Cash register, kiosks and printers must be configured using a FIXED IP. Printers will NOT work correctly with DHCP because you have to specify the IP in the various Apps.
IP addresses: by default we use 172.29.29.xx with a specific range for the various devices listed below
